Valdamor is a family owned winery, located in the heart of the Salnés Valley, in the Northwest of Spain, Galicia. It was founded in 1990 by family Dominguez and it is specialise in 100% Albariño premium white wines from Rias Baixas DO.
Mr. Manuel Domínguez Limeres, the owner of Valdamor, was born in Galicia, and since he was a child proclaimed his love for the wonders of the land were he grew up.
Although he moved to Madrid 30 years ago, he kept his passion for his homeland alive expressing it through the Galician cuisine with his very prestigious seafood restaurants Combarro and Sanxenxo, and in 1990, he made one of his most desired dreams come true, being part of the group who founded Valdamor Winery, giving birth to Albariño Valdamor, a unique Albariño that 15 years after, it is in demand worldwide.
In 2003, the Dominguez family took over Valdamor Winery and Mr. Dominguez and his son Diego, promoted a change on its procedures and a modernization of its image warranting a unique quality and style that gave Valdamor prestige and recognition in the national and international markets.
Valdamor winery is named after an ancient Galician tale that tells the story of two lovers whose families were enemies, who planted a vine that grew stronger as their love grew deeper, giving a delicious and golden fruit never seen before. Since then, villagers called the valley Valdamor, which in Galician means Valley of love.
